Sculptures

Modern and contemporary artworks require specialised preventive care due to the unpredictable nature of their materials over time. As conservator specialised in modern materials, I try to prolong the longevity of the artwork while honouring the artistic intention. After thorough condition assessments to identify any damage, deterioration, or structural vulnerabilities,  a customised conservation plan can be developed. My approach prioritises minimal intervention, utilising tested and stable materials that do not harm the artwork and can be reversed when necessary.

painted surfaces

In addition to sculptures and installation artworks, contemporary art often encompasses painted surfaces. They can consists of a diverse range of materials on various grounds. As a trained conservator, I understand how these materials behave over time due to their chemical composition under various influences from outside, such as environmental conditions. I can stabilise, clean, and retouch painted surfaces reversibly, with minimal intervention while implementing advanced, thoroughly researched conservation techniques.

Media art

It is of incredible importance to thoroughly document media artworks while they are still functional, as well as to develop comprehensive preventive conservation plans to minimize the risk of irreversible loss in the future. By proactively addressing the preservation needs of media artworks, we can ensure their continued accessibility and longevity, allowing future generations to experience these artworks in a way similar to the original medium.
